Production Operator

Department: Production
Department Manager: Production Team Leader

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent which includes having the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
The position requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Previous Work Experience:

Any previous quality control experience is welcome.
Any previous manufacturing experience is welcome.
Previous experience in machine troubleshooting is preferred.
This position requires on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements:

Moderate physical requirements. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. is required.
Good hand dexterity to handle and use micrometers.
Must be able to work in a room with temperature variation.

Mental or Visual Demand:

Very high customer concern is needed in this area.
Ability to interpret dimensions from hand-held micrometers.
Ability to follow very detailed instructions.
Ability to work well under pressure and maintain quality.

Essential Functions:

Manufacture polyimide tubing and monitor lots to ensure they meet product and customer requirements.
Inspect and receive production materials to ensure they meet product requirements prior to use.
Perform random final inspections.
Collect data for customers if required.
Must be able to see and feel very small defects in product.
Capable of reading customer drawings and following specifications on them.
Following MicroLumen’s procedures is essential.

Other Expectations:

Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.
Must be flexible in working hours.
Judgment is required to know when ovens and other equipment are malfunctioning.
Judgment is required to modify production parameters if production run is in danger of being out of specification.
Care is required to avoid minor burns.
Strong analytical skills to analyze and resolve problems effectively.

Start-up a run
In-process monitoring of a run
Shut down of a run
Completion of a Gauge R&R
Mixing of Chemical solutions

Assembly Technician

Department: Assembly
Department Manager: Assembly Team Leader/Engineer

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent which includes having the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
The ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Previous Work Experience:

Any previous quality control experience is welcome.
This position requires on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements:

Very light physical requirements.
Excellent finger dexterity.

Mental or Visual Demand:

Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to see and feel very small defects.
Ability to work with and assemble very small tubing.
Must be highly organized due to the multitude of process steps and materials used.

Essential Functions:

Inspect, trim and assemble custom-made product to customer specifications.
Operate various types of equipment (glue machine, sciver, fuse down, other heat elements, etc.) for assembly.
Keep track and document all materials and lot numbers used to assemble product. and document on assembly lot forms or LHR forms if applicable.
Use a variety of magnification equipment and gages to ensure product meets specification.

Good judgment is required.
Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.

Demonstrated Competencies:
(Operator may be trained to one or all dependent on need and prior to moving to another job)

Identification of raw materials and MicroLumen part numbers
Apply line clearance properly
Ability to accurately inspect, trim and package material within time constraints
Work with heat operating machine
Measuring OD with laser micrometer
Understanding of ERP/GSS

Finishing Technician

Department: Finishing
Department Manager: Finishing Team Leader/Supervisor

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent which includes having the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Previous Work Experience:

Any previous quality control experience is welcome.
This position requires on-the-job training.

Physical Requirements:

Very light physical requirements.

Mental or Visual Demand:

Ability to sit for long periods of time.
Ability to see and feel very small defects.
Must be detail oriented; carelessness may result in rejected product to the customer.

Essential Functions:
(Technicians may be trained to one or all functions)

Perform visual /tactile inspections of tubing for defects.
Perform inspections on product to ensure value added services meet requirements.
Cut and measure tubing to specified length either by hand or automatic trimmer.
Accurately count and place tubing in inner packaging per WIP Log /Router requirements.
Administrative and inspection duties (WIP to FG, labeling, returns to overstock) for Offline Coordinator position.

Other Expectations:

Good judgment is required.
Following MicroLumen’s procedures and WIP Log/Routers are essential.
Ability to work well with others and communicate effectively.

Demonstrated Competencies:

Choosing correct sample size based on c=0 sampling plan
Being able to work individually and as a team
Ability to accurately inspect/trim/and/or package with in time constraints
Operator will train with multiple experienced operators and be evaluated for; final determination of competency by lead/supervisor with feedback
Understanding of ERP/GSS
